- 2 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
- Season flour with salt and pepper.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides.
- Transfer the chicken to a baking dish.
- Top each piece with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- Serve with pasta or a side salad.
- You can use store-bought marinara sauce for convenience.
- For extra flavor, add Italian herbs to the breadcrumbs.
