Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs, flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Remove shrimp from buttermilk, letting excess drip off, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the shrimp in a single layer. Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray.
  6. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey.
  8. Toss the cooked shrimp in the sauce, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level of the sauce by adding more or less sriracha.
  • For extra crunch, you can double coat the shrimp by dipping them again in buttermilk and the breadcrumb mixture before air frying.
  • Serve with lime wedges for an added zesty flavor.
