This Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp recipe features crispy shrimp tossed in a spicy, creamy sauce. It’s a quick and easy dish that’s perfect as an appetizer or main course!

- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs, flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Remove shrimp from buttermilk, letting excess drip off, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the shrimp in a single layer. Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey.
- Toss the cooked shrimp in the sauce, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level of the sauce by adding more or less sriracha.
- For extra crunch, you can double coat the shrimp by dipping them again in buttermilk and the breadcrumb mixture before air frying.
- Serve with lime wedges for an added zesty flavor.
