- 1 lb calamari rings, cleaned and patted dry
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Cooking spray or olive oil spray
- Lemon wedges, for serving
- Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs.
- In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each calamari ring in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the floured calamari rings in the beaten eggs, then coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Place the coated calamari rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not touching for even cooking.
- Spray the calamari lightly with cooking spray or olive oil spray.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with lemon wedges and marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Ensure calamari rings are completely dry before coating for the best crispiness.
- You can season the panko breadcrumbs with additional spices for extra flavor.
