- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cup salsa
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, toss the chickpeas with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well coated.
- Place the seasoned chickpeas in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 15-18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the chickpeas are crispy and golden.
- While the chickpeas are cooking, warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side or until pliable.
- Assemble the tacos by dividing the crispy chickpeas among the tortillas. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and salsa.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the toppings to your liking. Other great options include cheese, sour cream, or hot sauce.
- For extra crunch, you can add some diced bell peppers or radishes to the tacos.
