- 1 pound fresh okra, trimmed
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup buttermilk or milk
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, combine the cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each okra pod in buttermilk, then dredge it in the cornmeal mixture until fully coated.
- Place the coated okra in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the okra is golden brown and crispy.
- Serve immediately as a snack or side dish.
Notes
- Make sure the okra is dry before dipping in buttermilk for the best coating.
- Adjust the seasonings according to your taste preference.
- You can add parmesan cheese to the cornmeal mixture for extra flavor.
