  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

These flaky biscuits are perfect for breakfast or as a side with your favorite meals. Light, buttery, and easy to make, they will become a family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times until it comes together.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1 inch thick. Cut biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, allowing them to touch slightly.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flaky biscuits, do not over-knead the dough.
  • You can add herbs or cheese to the dough for added flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
