Description

This brown sugar glazed salmon is a quick and easy recipe that results in perfectly caramelized fish with a sweet and savory flavor. Ideal for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (skin on or off, your preference)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)
  • to taste black pepper
  • for garnish green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Preheat your grill or a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the brown sugar mixture over them, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes.
  4. Once the grill or skillet is hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if applicable) and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Carefully flip the fillets and cook for another 4-5 minutes, brushing with extra marinade until the salmon is cooked through and caramelized.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a splash of lime juice to the marinade.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or over rice for a complete meal.
  • If using skin-on salmon, ensure the skin is crispy by cooking skin-side down first.
