Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • for frying vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • for serving celery sticks
  • for serving blue cheese dressing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  2. While the oil is heating, season the chicken wings with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the chicken wings in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot.
  4. Fry the wings for about 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the wings and drain on paper towels.
  6. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and then stir in the hot sauce until well combined.
  7. In a large bowl, toss the fried wings with the buffalo sauce until they are fully coated.
  8. Serve the wings hot with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing on the side.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, consider double frying them: fry once, let them rest, and fry again for 3-5 minutes.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce to taste for desired spiciness.
