Caramel Apple Cinnamon Roll Lasagna: 5 Layers of Delight

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated cinnamon rolls
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup caramel sauce, divided
  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of caramel sauce. Mix until the apples are well coated.
  3. Roll out the cinnamon rolls and cut each roll into quarters. Toss the pieces in flour to prevent sticking.
  4. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the cinnamon roll pieces on the bottom.
  5. Spread half of the apple mixture over the cinnamon rolls, followed by half of the cream cheese mixture (mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth).
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining cinnamon roll pieces, apple mixture, and cream cheese mixture.
  7. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with chopped pecans if using.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce if desired.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider using spiced apple pie filling in place of fresh apples.
  • This dessert can be prepared a day in advance; just cover and refrigerate before baking.
