- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the onions cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, cream cheese, garlic powder, Parmesan cheese, and the cooled caramelized onions. Mix well until smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped chives.
- Serve with chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
