Description
A juicy and flavorful classic burger recipe that is perfect for grilling season. This recipe uses simple ingredients to create the ultimate burger experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese (optional)
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Pickles
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Onion slices
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt and pepper. Do not overwork the meat.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, slightly larger than the buns as they will shrink while cooking.
- Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing up during cooking.
- Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side.
- Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for about 1 minute until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions on the bottom bun, followed by the burger patty, and any condiments you like.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier burger, add some chopped jalapeños or hot sauce to the patties.
- Feel free to customize your toppings with your favorite ingredients.
