Description

A refreshing frozen treat made with ripe watermelon, perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups seedless watermelon, diced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the diced watermelon, sugar, lime juice, water, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into a shallow baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  4. Place the dish in the freezer. After about 1 hour, use a fork to scrape the mixture, breaking it up into ice crystals.
  5. Return to the freezer and repeat the scraping process every 30 minutes for about 2-3 hours, or until the granita is fully frozen and fluffy.
  6. Serve in chilled bowls or glasses, garnished with lime slices or mint leaves if desired.
