Description
These Honey Garlic Butter Chicken Thighs are juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The sweet and savory sauce is perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Season the chicken thighs generously with salt and pepper.
- In a large, oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs, skin-side down, and sear for about 5-7 minutes until crispy and golden brown. Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and thyme (if using).
- Pour the honey garlic mixture over the chicken thighs in the skillet. Add the butter on top of the chicken.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Baste the chicken with the sauce halfway through cooking for extra flavor.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, broil the chicken for an additional 2-3 minutes at the end of cooking.
- This recipe can be made with boneless chicken thighs as well; just reduce the cooking time by about 10 minutes.
