  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Deliciously spicy and cheesy, these jalapeno poppers are a perfect appetizer for any gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 fresh jalapeno peppers, halved and seeded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup bread crumbs (optional)
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeno half, filling them generously.
  4. If desired, roll each stuffed jalapeno in bread crumbs for an extra crunchy topping.
  5. Place the jalapeno poppers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Spray the tops lightly with non-stick cooking spray.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the jalapenos are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can adjust the spiciness by leaving some of the seeds in the jalapenos.
  • For a healthier version, you can omit the bacon or use turkey bacon.
