A classic Key Lime Pie that captures the tangy flavor of fresh key limes in a creamy filling, all nestled in a crunchy graham cracker crust.

- 1 1/2 cups Graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup Granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup Key lime juice
- 1 can (14 oz) Sweetened condensed milk
- 3 Egg yolks
- to taste Zest of 2 key limes
- for topping Whipped cream
- for garnish Lime slices
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
- Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan to form the crust.
- Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the key lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, and lime zest until smooth.
- Pour the filling into the cooled crust and spread evenly.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
- Top with whipped cream and garnish with lime slices before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter pie, add more sweetened condensed milk.
- Key limes are smaller and more tart than regular limes, but you can substitute with regular lime juice if necessary.
- To enhance the flavor, consider adding a pinch of salt to the filling.
