Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to stir until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble.
  4. Reduce the heat and add the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, stirring until melted and smooth.
  5. Add salt, pepper, and paprika to taste.
  6. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni, stirring until well coated.
  7. If desired, transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
