- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, and other desired toppings
Instructions
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until tender and golden, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.
- Cook the burger patties on the grill or skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover to melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in the oven until golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, topping with sautéed mushrooms, and adding lettuce, tomato, and any other desired toppings.
- Serve immediately.
