Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the shrimp are pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once the pasta is cooked, reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Mix until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
  5. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Adjust the level of red pepper flakes according to your spice preference.
  • This dish is best served immediately, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
