Description
These Smash Burger Tacos combine the best of both worlds – the juicy, flavorful elements of a smash burger wrapped in a soft taco shell. Perfect for a fun twist on taco night!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup pickles, chopped
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking oil for frying
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a little cooking oil.
- Take a handful of ground beef (about 2 ounces) and form it into a ball. Place it in the hot skillet and smash it down with a spatula to create a thin patty. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook the patty for about 2-3 minutes until a crust forms, then flip it and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Once cooked, place a small amount of cheese on top of the patty to melt.
- Remove the patty from the skillet and set it aside. Repeat with the remaining ground beef.
- In a separate pan, lightly toast the tortillas on both sides.
- To assemble, place a smash burger patty on each tortilla. Top with diced onions, tomatoes, pickles, and a drizzle of the sauce made from mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard.
- Fold the tortillas over the filling and serve immediately.
Notes
- For added flavor, try seasoning the beef with your favorite spices before cooking.
- Feel free to customize toppings according to your preference, such as adding lettuce or avocado.
